Finally a set of American made metric drills. It came with the plastic case, which I like better than the Huot that came with the fractional set. The first thing I did when I got these was stall the spindle of my tormach 770 with the 10mm drill bit in aluminum. The drill bit was fine, I just need more spindle power. I wish these were available in bright or TiN, since oxide is not ideal for aluminum.I never cheap out on drill bits anymore. One uncoated quality drill bit is worth a garbage bag full of chinese junk regardless of what they are supposedly coated with. Buy good ones, it could save you an eye or a thumb.I had to jump on this well priced USA made drill bit set! Amazon bundled all the sets together in one listing, Ill clarify that I purchased the HSS 1/16-1/2, by 1/16th’s. I believe a 16 pc set.I Just used the 1/2” bit (the largest in my set) to bore a hole through a 2x4 stud, and it was like butter. Night and day difference vs my previous drill bits (imported sets branded Bosch, Porter Cable, and Dewalt)Very nice metal index case as well.Highly recommendedThese are top notch drill bits for plastics, aluminum, iron, and non hardened steel. Made in USA, and well marked. Sizes are deeply stamped. Cutting edges are well ground. These are bright, untreated HSS for use in softer materials up to mild steel. The maker is a stalwart in the USA machine tool industry. I am glad they haven't gone offshore.I'm using these to drill brass set screws to make jets for my carburetor. These are tiny, but they do exactly what they should, and measure to the dimension marked on the case. These are the sharpest drill bits I've ever owned. The 1/32" increments are great when I want to make a hole just slightly oversized. I've used them with both my hand held drill and my drill press.Superb drill bits and the plastic case is a major improvement over the metal case previously used by Morse
